key poses

ok so finally here is the key poses for the animation :) i kept the background quite plain but i think ill add a few details a little later on :)

more later :)

research

i also took a look at some other animation and styles to help along the way...this one in particular stood out :)

this stood out because it is full of dynamic poses that although are block colour inform us of what is happening easily with no confusion.

Character Bio

so i thought a quick bio of my character will be in order :) this will help bring her to life :)

Gender: Female
Age: 20
Fear: Eternal Entrapment
Aim: To escape captivity and never look back
Situation: She has been held captive for unknown reasons, she has bide her time waiting for the opportune moment to make her escape and its finally come, weaving in,out and over all the obstacles put in her way nothing is stopping her from getting what she craves most....freedom.

rough storyboards

ok so here is my initial idea :) drawings are only quick and sketchy so bare with me for now :)

also been thinking about the sound track to set the mood at the moment the main two that i think would help set the mood are :

and

more later :D

moodboards

ok so now im looking at the feel of the animation i think i'd like to put a spin on a simular look to portal meets padded cell confinement:

i also looked into the type of shots and poses i would like and hope to use in my animation too :)

i think there will be alot of action in my animation and i would like to make it quite fast paced :) after doing a little more looking i found a clip from resident evil: afterlife that i think really reflects the feel, look and pace of the type of animation i want to produce as an end product.

more later :)

putting ideas down

ok so i got thinking about what sort of animation i wanted to go for and these are the ideas that i came up with :)

after thinking of the ideas i thought i would also try to decide the setting and the sort of obstacles that the character would come across:

now to look for reference :)

more later :D

getting started

ok so lets get started ! i started this blog up so i can keep my 2d animation module at university organised and clear hopefully this will keep me on track to everything i would like to achieve :)

the brief: To Create a dramatic and dynamic 30 second 2D character animated sequence that shows
someone escaping from a secure location or situation. Your character must negotiate
obstacles and dangers to make their getaway. Whether they succeed of fail in their bid for
freedom is up to you. Your sequence will also have a suitable soundtrack with music and/or
sound effects.

now to look into this :)
